"Gray Area" Performance Exhaust (81-92 Non-Turbo)

"Gray area" exhaust means that, by the "letter" of the emissions laws, the headers are not legal -- because the front monolithic converter(s) have been removed.
The header will not bolt up to a stock main cat, you either have to make a short connector pipe, or purchase the high flow cat listed for your car below.
The main high-flow catalytic converters are 50-state legal -- they are made to bolt to the headers listed (by year/model), and then connect to the OEM pipe at the rear of the main converter. Note: these converters are NOT a direct replacement for the originals -- they are longer.
Here in southern California, the headers normally will not make it through the "visual" inspection -- this is done BEFORE the testers even check the tailpipe emissions!!
It seems that many states will pass these combos of headers and converter, but we can NOT sell them as "emissions legal" -- you are on your own for passing tests and legality.
Note: The only gasket supplied is the one between the header and the converter - comes with the header.
