These are very prone to leaking, especially in the 86-88 non-turbos (and we have had a few of the other types in the 86-95 range leaking).

When they begin leaking, liquid (sometimes a spray) gasoline is on top of the engine -- NOT a good thing. We have had many customers cars towed in here (and heard of many more) that were BURNED WAY BEYOND REPAIR!

If yours is leaking, FIX IT NOW!!

We had two service customers that we had TOLD them theirs' was leaking, and explained the real fire hazard -- they did not want to fix it at that time. Their cars were towed in within 3 days, totaled due to fire damage.

These pictures do not do justice to all the typical damage of the resulting fire! Ruined: most plastic, throttle body, BPAV, air control valve, fuel lines, alternator, wiper motor, engine bay wiring loom, cruise control, injectors, belts, fan shroud, all solinoids on the engine, hood, and sometimes windshield, etc etc etc.
