| Steel Flywheels | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| Made from high quality steel, precision machined, heat treated, with steel ring gear heat-shrunk and welded to flywheel, bolts included to attach flywheel to rear counterweight, price includes rear counterweight. Weight (including rear counterweight) is approximately 18 pounds. This is very close to the weight of the stock flywheel, but the weight is distributed more towards the center for significantly reduced inertia. This will allow the engine to rev up and down quicker, and will improve acceleration in the mid range. (3k-6k rpm) | |||

| Aluminum Flywheels | |||
|---|---|---|---|
| These have a bolted on, tuftrided steel friction surface for long life (also replaceable), steel ring gear is heat shrunk and bolted in place, bolts included to attach flywheel to rear counterweight, needed hardware for clutch mounting supplied, price includes rear counterweight. Weight, including rear counterweight, is approximately 12 pounds. This is a significant savings of weight over the stock flywheel, and the weight is concentrated more towards the center. This will significantly decrease inertia, resulting in improved acceleration through the gears. | |||

Socket - for removing flywheel nut if you have an air compressor and impact
guns, or even just a long breaker bar and somebody / someway to hold the engine
down. Socket is 3/4" drive. (Please - do not try breaking that nut loose, with a breaker bar, with the engine on an engine stand !!) |

| 49-22008 | 3/4" adapter to use 1/2"
drive. The flywheel nut is put on with over 300 foot-pounds of torque and this
adpater CAN BREAK! BE CAREFUL!! (sorry - there is no warranty on it). Better to
get a hold of a 3/4" breaker bar that has a warranty from
somebody. (Just to let you know kind of worst case - We have had a few where we needed to use our 1", 1200 foot pound, impact gun with our 1" drive impact 54mm socket!) |
