| Everything on a turbo engine gets extremely hot during spirited driving. Shutting the engine down immediately when it is at this extreme temperature can cause catastrophic failure of both the engine and turbocharger parts. |
| The Turbo Timer is an electronic device which will keep the car idling for 30 seconds to 5 minutes after the ignition is turned off. It hooks directly into the ignition circuit and has a lead to the parking brake to prevent activation of the system without the brake applied or having someone drive the car away while the system is keeping the engine running. |
| In the world of turbocharged engines we need to do everything we can to prolong engine life, and we consider the Turbo Timer an excellent investment. |

| Electronic Valve Control (EVC IV) by HKS | ||
| The EVC Unit is similar to the manual boost control system in that the driver is in control of the boost pressure. The difference is that the EVC is run by a microprocessor which continually monitors and controls boost. The microprocessor also prevents the wastegate from being activated before the appropriate pressure is achieved. This causes a sharper boost rise, and gives maximum boost pressure even after the compressor has reached its peak efficiency. Due to these benefits, the EVC can produce noticeable horsepower increases even over other manual boost regulators. | ||
| When the EVC is inactive, factory boost pressures will operate as normal. When the power is on, the driver can choose from low, high, or manual settings. The LOW setting will render a 50% boost increase over the factory setting, and the HIGH setting will give a 100% boost increase. The manual setting gives the driver ultimate control from 2% to 200% above the factory maximum setting. | ||
| The EVC is a street legal way to make radical horsepower increases, but please remember that any increase in boost pressure will sacrifice engine longevity. When you increase boost above 8.6 psi, a "Fuel Cut Out Switch" must be used to prevent pre-programmed fuel cut off at the rear rotor. The Fuel Cut Out Switch can be found later in this section. | ||
